More or less a year after our interesting interview with Mike Beaudet, we decided to revisit the world of Megeve Mike. In the past year the politics, economy, demography and ecology of our planet have changed a lot. Sociologists say we live in a VUCA-world: volatile, unpredictable, complex and ambiguous. Did these changes influence the world of skiing in Megeve? Let us find out….
How are things in Megeve Mike ?
Mike answers: “The year has been good!” (Did I really expect a different answer from this life-loving positive guy?). Brexit has exploded on the scene, but the British Pound has recovered somewhat, enabling the British to book their luxury chalets for a ski holiday in the Alps. Mike’s Affordable Megeve English Ski School still gives excellent value for money and a fair deal for ski lessons.
Your thoughts on the ski season ahead?
Mike’s enthusiastic answer:
“Oh, it is going to be a wonderful season!”
One consequence of Brexit is that British ski instructors now have to adhere to the rigid European standards for ski instructors. This enhances the ski schooling system and the level of skiing in European ski resorts. Weather wise the season looks more that promising. Mike can say this with confidence because of the excellent snow canon infrastructure of Megeve – if the snow doesn’t fall out of the sky, it is artificially created on the slopes. Megeve’s location makes it a firm favourite with ski lovers. An hour’s flight from London to Geneva, an hour’s drive from Geneva to Megeve – and click on your skis!
